The Netherlands has issued yellow weather warnings for the provinces of Limburg, Zeeland, and South Holland as Storm Austen approaches. The storm is expected to bring wind gusts of at least 75 kilometers per hour, beginning Friday evening.
Initially, the southwestern regions and the hills of Limburg will experience the strong winds, which will then spread across the country overnight. Coastal areas may see particularly strong gusts. Although Saturday is forecast to have fewer showers with occasional sunshine and calmer winds, heavy rain and stronger gusts are anticipated to return by the evening.
The unsettled weather conditions are expected to persist into Sunday, with strong winds continuing, particularly in northern parts of the Netherlands where showers are likely. In contrast, southern areas might enjoy more sunshine. Throughout the weekend, temperatures are predicted to remain cool, not exceeding 13°C.
