Quantoz Payments B.V. has unveiled its Embedded Payment Services, a versatile API-based platform designed to help fintechs, digital platforms, and payment service providers seamlessly integrate regulated digital money, accounts, wallets, and compliance features into their offerings. Potje, a group savings app from the Netherlands, is the first company to implement this platform, allowing users to collectively save money toward common goals.
This new service from Quantoz Payments represents an expansion beyond the company’s existing regulated e-money token offerings. It features APIs and infrastructure aimed at simplifying the development of payment and settlement solutions across Europe. By using this platform, businesses can incorporate specific payment components without the usual hurdles of licensing, compliance, safeguarding, and operational infrastructure.
Built on blockchain-native technology, Quantoz’s Embedded Payment Services enable partners to customize and scale various components according to their needs. The platform offers a range of features, including digital wallets, accounts, payments, collections, and comprehensive fraud, risk, and compliance processes. Potje, having collaborated closely with Quantoz in the platform’s development, benefits from secure fund management under the supervision of the Dutch Central Bank. The app allows users to add funds through a Europe-wide Pay by Bank service, with instant payouts and flexible withdrawals.
Bastiaan Reurink, CEO of Potje, emphasized that the partnership aims to simplify and enhance group saving, offering quick top-ups and immediate payouts. This aligns with Potje’s goal to become a leading group money account for friends across Europe. Arjen van Klaarbergen, Chief Legal Officer at Quantoz Payments, highlighted that the service equips fintechs and platforms with regulated digital-money infrastructure, removing the need for them to establish their own compliance and payment operations.
Licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in the Netherlands and operating under the supervision of the Dutch Central Bank, Quantoz Payments ensures that funds received for e-money are safeguarded in line with European regulatory standards. The Embedded Payment Services are available to fintechs, platforms, and payment providers throughout the European Economic Area (EEA). Potje, the Dutch fintech app, allows groups to save collectively for shared goals, offering features like digital savings pots, contributor invitations, progress tracking, and targeted savings for group events.
