SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Electric cars are becoming the future of driving, and Nissan wants to make them even better. That’s why the company is joining forces with LiCAP Technologies, a U.S. firm specializing in advanced battery parts, to build cleaner and safer batteries.
At the heart of this effort is a new way to make an important battery component called the electrode. LiCAP’s dry electrode process cuts out harmful chemicals, making battery production safer for people and the planet.
“This partnership is about improving technology while reducing impact,” said Dr. Linda Zhong, CEO of LiCAP. “Our work with Nissan moves us closer to cleaner cars for everyone.”
