HAKONE, JAPAN – Hotel Okura is set to redefine luxury stays in Japan’s hot spring capital with the 2029 debut of Okura Resort Hakone Gora, its first resort property in the country.
The boutique-style resort will offer 58 rooms, each featuring a private outdoor onsen fed directly by Owakudani thermal waters—eliminating the need for shared bathing spaces and schedules.
Designed by Gwenael Nicolas, the resort embraces a “Forest Hideaway” concept that blends Hakone’s natural landscape with modern elegance. Guests will also have access to high-end teppanyaki dining and the attentive service that has become synonymous with the Okura brand.
The project reflects Hotel Okura’s strategic focus on high-end domestic travel and growing international demand for private, experience-driven luxury accommodations.
